White River Budokan - Our dojo is a simple one. We like it that way. Instructors at the dojo offer, collectively, over one hundred years experience(training, teaching, competing, running seminars, traveling nationally and internationally) in the arts of Karatedo, Judo, Jujutsu, Tai Chi Chuan, Aikido, Iaido, Kobudo, Chinese Boxing, and Tae kwon Do. Our Chief Instructor is Ron Treem. Assisting him are Kevin Comeau, Colin Treem, Louise Herschel, Matt Treem, . We currently focus on the arts of Karatedo, Judo, Jujutsu, Iaido, and Kobudo. The highest teaching rank at our dojo is 8th Dan(Treem Sensei Karatedo, Aikido, and Jujutsu). Instructors will tell you their ranks upon request or by coming to the dojo and reading them displayed on the wall. Only those instructors who we have trained with directly are on our walls in photos. Please visit us and enjoy watching a class and any questions you have will be answered.
We train traditionally. We do that because its the one and only way to train if students have as a goal becoming the finest martial artist they can be. We focus on the perfection of form. We focus on the perfection of the application of form.- We believe that the Zen approach in training and its emphasis on the here and now will help that focus. We also believe it makes us better people. We are seeking to further develop a network of fellow martial artists which we refer to as BudoKai. Currently, we have a few folks that want to list their schools as affiliated with the philosophy stated in this paragraph which is BudoKai. Please contact us if you want to affiliate, at no fee other than mutual respect, with BudoKai.
We are proud to be the sponsors and coordinators of The United Martial Arts Association East(TUMAA) and recently conducted the second year of this training seminar. Also, for the second year, we are arranging the United States Martial Arts Association Annual Training Camp to be held in Manchester, N. H. at the Best Western Executive Suites from August 8-11, 2012. Information on both these training opportuniteis can be found on this site and our Facebook page "White River Budokan".
